Bill Barr Admits Trump's Election Fraud Claims Were Lies
While Barr and McConnell selfishly focused on their own need for personal power, Americans watched in horror as Trump attempted a coup.
Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and William Barr deserve each other. Trump was reportedly furious when Barr was unable to conjure up voter fraud. Meanwhile, McConnell refused to admit Joe Biden won the election because he was focused on winning the two Senate seats in Georgia so he could remain Senate Majority Leader.
McConnell was afraid that Trump would sabotage the Georgia election — worried for himself.
While Barr and McConnell selfishly focused on their own need for personal power, Americans watched in horror as Trump attempted a coup.
The Atlantic is reporting multiple conversations with McConnell begging Barr to tell the truth about Trump’s election fraud lies.
Barr did absolutely nothing to inform Americans that there was not any voter fraud. Instead, the week after the election, he told prosecutors to investigate “substantial allegations” of voting anomalies that could change the outcome of the 2020 election.
To be clear, Barr ordered this investigation KNOWING there were not voting anomalies. Barr knew there was no voter fraud.
Then, Barr resigned. Trump announced Barr’s resignation just moments after Biden reached the 270 needed electoral college votes.
Barr repeatedly placed Trump’s ambitions ahead of our nation’s free and fair election process.
Meanwhile, McConnell put his personal ambitions ahead of democracy. The ONLY action McConnell took was to ask Barr to acknowledge there was no voter fraud. In fact, McConnell did not admit there was no voter fraud until January 19!
Luckily for Americans, Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock won both seats in Georgia and Chuck Schumer replaced McConnell as Senate Majority Leader. This win allowed working folks to get much needed financial relief from President Biden’s American Rescue Plan.
So now Barr is worried about his reputation and wants Americans to believe that he tried to do the right thing. Now that Trump is going down, Barr joins Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Mike Pence in distancing himself.
Fun Fact: Wealthy white men in America are rarely held accountable for their actions, and that goes double for Republicans.
