Coronavirus Vaccine Is Nearing Final Phase Of Trials!

A vaccine for Covid-19 is continuing its journey to completion thanks to the efforts of scientists around the world. For several months, this virus has devastated the lives of people worldwide, nearing 11 million who have been diagnosed. And that’s not even counting those currently infected who have yet to receive confirmation of their illness due to a lack of testing. It’s about time all of us saw the light at the end of this seemingly endless tunnel.
There is still a ways to go before a Covid-19 vaccine is ready for public distribution, but scientists are making good progress. According to the World Health Organization, 147 candidate vaccines are being tracked, with 18 candidate vaccines in clinical evaluation and 129 candidate vaccines in preclinical evaluation. This means that of those 147 candidate vaccines, 18 of them are no longer exclusively tested on non-human subjects to determine the effects they have on their immune systems, and are being given to groups of human volunteers.
According to US Food and Drug Administration commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn, we are closing in on a vaccine, and, if everything stays on track, and depending on the results of the testing data, he says we may have one ready by the end of this year, or early of next year. Considering how the average vaccine takes years to develop, this is extremely good news, and will hopefully alleviate the fears many people may have that this current pandemic will not end anytime soon.
It’s clear just how much these hard working scientists around the world care about protecting us from Covid-19, and with the state of our current political leadership in the United States (or lack-thereof), it’s comforting to know there are these people out there who are fighting to make all of our lives better. Many might not know their names, or who they are, but regardless, they are the real heroes in this fight against this deadly virus.
