Corruption Doesn't Fall Far From Bill Barr's Family Tree?
AG Bill Barr arranged for his daughter, Mary Barr Daly, to get a job at the Treasury on the SAME DAY he became AG. Also, his son-in-law was moved into the White House Counsel's Office.
Corruption doesn’t fall far from the family tree. United States Attorney General Bill Barr arranged for his daughter to receive a top position at the U.S. Treasury on the same day he became AG and installed his son-in-law in the White House Counsel’s office.
Has Mary Barr Daly been tasked with hiding Trump's taxes, stopping the Deutsche Bank money laundering investigation and making illegal Biden disclosures in an effort to elect Trump?
By installing his daughter into the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Unit, has Barr installed a mole in our federal agency? Barr’s actions smack, at the least, of nepotism and, at the worst, of corruption.
Last Thursday, Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Timothy Shea filed a motion seeking to dismiss the criminal case against Micheal Flynn, Trumps former National Security Adviser. Flynn has already admitted his guilt for lying to the FBI about conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak regarding Russian Sanctions. The charges against Flynn have not been dismissed and it remains to be seen what Judge Sullivan will do in response to Shea’s motion.
The House could use its power of oversight to stop Bill Barr’s reign of corruption and that is “Contempt of Congress.” The House has already held Barr in contempt over a question related to the Census. Although this may seem like a small item compared to Trump crimes, remember that Al Capone was brought down by tax evasion.
Congress has the ability to jail or fine Barr for Contempt of Congress, but will they?
Jerry Nadler, Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, posted this on his Twitter page on May 8, 2020 along with this letter to the Inspector General requesting an investigation into Barr:
“@HouseJudiciary Democrats Call for IG Investigation into AG Barr's Politicization of DOJ.”
The House needs to subpoena AG Barr to testify immediately. When he refuses—and he probably will—there must severe consequences like huge fines or jail.
