Equal Justice Demands Ginni Thomas be held Accountable
Trump rioters were reportedly incited by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ wife Ginni Thomas.
America survived a terrorist attack orchestrated by our then-president Donald Trump. Mike Pence refused to enact the 25th Amendment despite Trump rioters calling for him to be hanged.
Pence also refused to get into the vehicle with the Secret Service, leading many to wonder why. Speculation reached an all time high after Americans learned the Secret Service deleted texts, after the January 6th Committee demanded them.
After Trump was impeached a second time, he still was not removed.
Shockingly, the Trump rioters were reportedly incited by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ wife Ginni Thomas. We will refer to her as Ginni so as not to confuse her with husband Justice Thomas.
After this news broke, Ginni reportedly apologized to her husband’s former law clerks for a “rift that developed among them” after she promoted Trump and allegedly endorsed the Jan. 6 rally in D.C., that resulted in our nation’s Capitol being attacked.
Ginni initially agreed to testify before the January 6th Committee, but changed her mind shortly after.
However, leading up to January 6, 2021, Ginni did more that promote or advocate for Trump. She promoted conspiracy theories that claimed that Trump really won the election. She promoted Trump’s Big Lie.
Background on Ginni Thomas
Ginni is married to Justice Thomas. Ginni spent much of 2020 condemning Black Lives Matter, opposing Covid shutdowns, while amplifying the “Walk Away” movement.
Ginni has a history of working to oppose the Affordable Care Act, affectionately known as Obamacare. She has also opposed LGBTQ rights and women’s rights.
Zealot
In late 2009, Ginni formed a non-profit lobbying group, Liberty Central, to organize conservative activists, issue score cards for Congress members and be involved in elections.
Liberty Central reportedly received nearly $1.5 million in its first two years from undisclosed donors.
Ginni claimed that her organization would fight the “tyranny” of the new president — referring to former President Barack Obama.
Ethics group Common Cause filed a complaint with the IRS stating that the group engaged in too much partisan activity to claim nonprofit status. The group was possibly violating tax laws. Liberty Central appears to no longer be active.
Food For Thought: Ginni reportedly paid herself an annual salary of $120,000 and her husband failed to disclose it.
After closing Liberty Central, Ginni founded Liberty Consulting in 2011. Many have pointed out that this lobbying business was a conflict of interest due to her husband’s position on the Supreme Court.
Liberty Consulting boasted on its website that Ginni would use her “experience and connections” to help clients with “governmental affairs efforts”, raising questions as to whether Justice Thomas will remain unbiased in cases involving healthcare and LGBTQ rights. He has already voted to overturn Roe.
Ginni has spent years leading a group called Groundswell, which reportedly had close ties to Trump and senior officials who served in his administration.
Extremist
Groundswell’s agenda was to promote extreme-right policies. Steve Bannon, John Bolton, and Dan Bongino reportedly have had ties with this shadowy group.
David Corn at Mother Jones characterized Groundswell as group that has been meeting privately to “concoct talking points, coordinate messaging, and hatch plans for 'a 30-front war seeking to fundamentally transform the nation.”
Trump’s Big Lie
After Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the election, Ginni promoted the Big Lie, falsely claiming that Biden and Harris stole the election. She demanded that Congress overturn Biden’s win.
Insurrectionists
Ginni appears to have Tweeted out encouragement to rioters prior to the attack on our Capitol saying, “GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU STANDING UP OR PRAYING.”
Then, just before the rioters attacked our Capitol to hang Pence and hunt Nancy Pelosi, AOC, Chuck Schumer, and other duly elected officials, Ginni sent them her “LOVE” on Facebook.
Should Justice Thomas Resign?
Many Americans have called on Justice Thomas to resign, citing conflicts of interest related to Ginni’s actions.
Ethics Question: Should the wife of a sitting Supreme Court Justice be scheming and plotting to deceive American voters into believing false narratives about our elections?
