The stimulus relief issue could have been resolved back in May, but Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans didn’t care enough about regular folks to vote for the “Heroes Act.”
It’s time to rid America of Senate Majority Leader McConnell by flipping Georgia’s two Senate seats.
In May, U.S. House passed the largest relief package in U.S. history called the Heroes Act —it was never even put to a vote by Senate Republicans including McConnell, Kelly (or as Trump calls her: Karen) Loeffler and David “Chicken” Perdue.
Mitch McConnell and Republican Senators had lots of time to devote to filling the vacant SCOTUS seat left by Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
McConnell’s motives are self-serving. He wanted to stack the Supreme Court to corruptly retain power. Republicans don’t care about regular folks trying to feed their families. They don’t care about our constitution. They only care about power.
Economy In Ruins
According to the Department of Labor, another 860,000 Americans filed for unemployment benefits. Claims are four times higher than before the coronavirus pandemic. Even worse, these statistics don’t include all of the additional unemployment claims in other unemployment aid programs, such as those who assist people who are self-employed.
McConnell and all the other Republican Senators refused to even consider the Heroes Act which was passed eight months ago by the House.
The Heroes Act package would have allotted money for your family:
Up to $6000 per household to Americans
Additional funding for state and local government
Hazard pay for essential workers
Funds for the U.S. Postal Service
$10 billion in assistance to small businesses who haven’t received money yet from the Paycheck Protection Program
Coronavirus testing and contact tracing
These details are according to the fact sheet released by the House Appropriations Committee.
Instead, McConnell would only allow a paltry $600 in stimulus.
To be clear, the ONLY reason McConnell allowed any stimulus money is because he was worried about holding onto the two Georgia Senate seats so he could retain his power as Senate Majority Leader.
Didn’t Even Consider Helping Folks
Mitch McConnell, Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue and the rest of the Republican Senators didn’t even consider voting on the Heroes Act relief package back in May.
This Is Why America Hates You, Lindsey Graham
Lindsey Graham arrogantly declared that the Heroes Act is "dead on arrival.” Graham claimed he is “sympathetic” to the idea that Americans may need additional help to recover, but declined to vote for it.
McConnell Cares About Rich Donors
McConnell stated his priority was to protect big businesses from lawsuits in his push back against the Heroes Act. McConnell called the Heroes Act is “a big laundry list of pet priorities.”
It seems that Americans being able to pay their bills, buy food and have access to coronavirus test kits are “pet priorities” to McConnell, Loeffler and Perdue.
McConnell proves AGAIN that he is a power hungry out of touch 78-year-old millionaire, who spends most of his time in Washington.
Republican Senators all took multiple vacations over the past eight months because doing nothing for Americans is hard work.
Canada Didn’t Play Politics With People’s Lives
Canadians received $2000 a month in coronavirus assistance and have access to test kits. They are not dying in the hundreds of thousands.
Georgia, please vote for Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock. Let’s flip the Senate Blue and remove McConnell as Senate Majority Leader.
