In February, The Washington Post reported both Department of Justice and the FBI were investigating ties between Roger Stone, the “Stop the Steal” organizer Ali Alexander, and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones of Info Wars, and Capitol rioters. InfoWars is a far-right conspiracy theory and fake news website owned by Alex Jones.
Jones and Stone are both reportedly under investigation over their role in inciting and organizing the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
InfoWars Host Owen Shroyer Criminally Charged Again
On Friday, InfoWars host Owen Shroyer was criminally charged for a second time. He has turned himself into authorities and is in custody to face charges stemming from his alleged involvement in the January 6 attack on the Capitol by Trump supporters.
According to The Daily Beast, the “US attorney’s office in Washington charged Shroyer with illegally going into a restricted area on the Capitol grounds and disorderly conduct.”
Recall in December 2019, Shroyer interrupted a House Judiciary hearing shouting about his political beliefs. He was charged for the first time for his actions.
Moreover, the Justice Department now states Shroyer may have violated a deferred prosecution agreement from his 2019 arrest. The agreement required Shroyer to complete 32 hours of community service. According to the Justice Department, Shroyer did not completed any of the 32 hours.

It’ll Be 1776 Again
On January 6, Shroyer bragged on camera from the Capitol, “InfoWars brought a lot of these people here for this Revolution that got sent into the stratosphere by DJT. We're here fighting like hell to get Trump back in office and if we do have this victory, it'll be 1776 again, worldwide.”
Fun Fact: Rep. Lauren Boebert Tweeted “Today is 1776” on January 6 hours before the attack on our nation’s Capitol.
Reminder: Rep. Boebert had a lot to say on January 6, including sharing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s location during the Capitol attack.
In screenshots included in charging documents, the Justice Department states Shroyer can be seen standing next to InfoWars founder Alex Jones and “Stop the Steal” rally organizer Ali Alexander in a restricted area of the Capitol grounds.

Prosecutors have linked videos showing Shroyer marching toward the Capitol together with Jones on January 6. He is shown addressing the mob, shouting, “Today we march for the Capitol because on this historic January 6, 2021, we have to let our congressmen and women know, and we have to let Mike Pence know, they stole the election, we know they stole it, and we aren’t going to accept it.”

Shroyer Claims He Is Innocent
On Friday, Shroyer spoke on air about the new charges saying, “A couple hours ago, I was informed by my attorney that there is a warrant out for my arrest with allegations involving Jan. 6, and I will have to turn myself in Monday morning. There's a lot of questions, some I have answers to, some I don't. I'm not going to be getting into more of this today on the air. And I plan on declaring innocence of these charges because I am.”
Shroyer claims he is innocent.
This is Something Roger and I Have Been Planning For a Long Time
On December 25, Ali Alexander, the “Stop the Steal” organizer posted, “This is something Roger and I have been planning for a long time. And finally, he’s off the leash. So, you know, it’s a knife fight and your two knife fighters are Ali Alexander and Roger Stone, and you either fight with us or you get slashed. So, I’ll let you guys know more about what that means as we evolve.”

InfoWars Video Editor Arrested
Recall on April 13, 2021, Samuel Montoya, identified as a video editor for the InfoWars, was arrested at his Texas home. He was charged with four counts:
1) Entering and remaining in a restricted building
2) Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a Capitol building
3) Impeding passage through the Capitol grounds or buildings
4) Parading, demonstrating or picketting in a Capitol building
FBI Arrests Continue
In the months following the attack, the FBI has charged more than 500 rioters in 40 states. Arrests continue almost daily.
“Today is a reminder, a painful one, that democracy is fragile. To preserve it requires people of good will, leaders with the courage to stand up, who are devoted not to pursuit of power and personal interest at any cost, but to the common good.”
— President Joseph R. Biden, January 6, 2021
