Joe Biden Has Narrowed His List Of Potential Running Mates!

With the election drawing closer, and with the strong hope someone can dethrone our circus performer of a leader, presidential candidate Joe Biden continues his search for a potential vice president and running mate. Defeating Donald Trump is a huge step in the right direction, but it’s always good to make sure there is a strong person who can take the reins should anything happen to the president who overthrows him.
In regards to those he is considering to be his running mate, Biden told 12 News, during an interview, “First thing I want to make sure is I have somebody -- and I think they all are -- capable of being president of the United States if something happens.”
He has said he plans on making his final decision and announcing it to the public in early to mid-August. So what kind of person is Biden looking for to not only help him take control away from Trump, but also to help the country of the devastation that has been wrought upon it?
One thing we do know for sure is Biden is seeking to pick a woman, and that four of the female candidates are African American. He made sure to emphasize the importance of bringing in someone who not only possesses the knowledge and skill to run a country, but also someone who represents the diversity of our nation, especially during such a bleak period in its history, when there is such widespread racism from emboldened Trump supporters running rampant throughout the streets.
If Biden wins (and that is still looking like an incredibly strong possibility, since he leads Trump by 15 points in the polls), the woman he picks will be the first female vice president in this nation’s history. She will also be the third female presidential nominee, following Geraldine Ferraro in 1984 for the Democratic Party and Sarah Palin in 2008 for the Republican Party.
There is still a lot for Biden to consider when making his decision, and he has said background checks are still being performed, and that he will be conducting the interviews with each of the vice presidential candidates to determine who will be the best fit for the position.
Here is the short list: Sen. Kamala Harris, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Rep. Val Demings of Florida, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, Sen. Tammy Duckworth, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
Having an African American woman as the vice president, and potentially the president afterwards, would be a tremendous boon for our country, as it will set the precedent once more -- a precedent that has been nearly torn in twain by Trump -- that this is a nation of diversity and opportunity, where anyone, regardless of their gender or race, can become anything they want to be.
