Meet Kamala Harris of House America, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Democrats and the Brave People, Protector of the Fifty States, the Mother of Our Nation, the Breaker of Chains.
Harris is making history as America’s first woman, first African American and first Asian American to hold the office of vice president.
This is also the first time our nation has had a second husband: Douglas Emhoff.
Meet Kamala Harris
Harris served as a United States Senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Before this, she served as the Attorney General of California.
During her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention Harris stated, “That I am here tonight is a testament to the dedication of generations before me. Women and men who believed so fiercely in the promise of equality, liberty and justice for all.”
She continued, “While I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last. Because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities, and to the children of our country, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message: Dream with ambition, lead with conviction and see yourselves in a way that others may not, simply because they've never seen it before.”
She Is Rising
It’s time for Harris, she is rising.
Harris became the woman to watch while serving on the Select Committee on Intelligence and the Judiciary Committee. She is famous for her smart, savvy questioning of witnesses. Harris is the future of our Democratic Party.
In 2005, the National Black Prosecutors Association awarded Harris the Thurgood Marshall Award.
In 2013, Time magazine named Harris as one of the “100 Most Influential People In The World.”
Biden and Harris were jointly named Time Person of The Year for 2020.
Renew the Promise of America
On Tuesday Harris Tweeted, “Starting tomorrow, @JoeBiden and I will work to unify our country, tackle the challenges facing our nation, and renew the promise of America.”
Americans across the nation are literally counting the hours until Harris and Biden are sworn in.
