Long Time Donor Dumps Lindsey Graham For Jaime Harrison In SC!
Richard Wilkerson, former chairman of Michelin North America, dumps Lindsey Graham to back Jaime Harrison. Harrison also picks up key endorsements by Kamala Harris, Cory Books and Jim Clyburn.
South Carolina’s senate race is heating up. Senate Democratic challenger Jaime Harrison just picked up long time Lindsey Graham donor, Richard Wilkerson, and key endorsements.
Wilkerson is the former chairman of Michelin’s North American operations. Wilkerson is dumping Graham to back Harrison.
Harrison has also picked up key endorsements from Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Cory Booker and Representative Jim Clyburn.
Yale-educated Harrison grew up as the son of a single teen mom and was raised by his grandparents. He has survived major setbacks and loss. When Harrison was a child, his family reportedly lost their home to a shady mobile home salesman.
“I know the anxiety about losing your home,” shared Harrison.
Graham isn’t going to be easy to take down because South Carolina has typically voted Republican. However, for the first time in decades it looks like Graham could lose his seat in the U.S. Senate.
Graham appears to be out of touch with minority voters in South Carolina. He has tethered himself to Trump—who has been accused of racism and sexism by many Americans. While this allowed Graham to win the Republican Primary easily, it could cost him in November.
Graham said, “If you don’t like what a politician is doing in American, you can fire them at the ballot box.”
Will South Carolina fire Graham? Trump’s Republican party has become the party that suppresses minority voters and appears to be out of touch with regular Americans.
South Carolina could lead the way for America as the Republican Party falls apart under the weight of Trump’s racist, conservative base.
“This isn’t about left versus right, it’s about right versus wrong.” - Jaime Harrison
