Mo Brooks Hides From Capitol Attack Lawsuit After Being Accused by Ali Alexander

Ali Alexander, the “Stop the Steal” organizer, claimed after the January 6 Capitol attack that he plotted with three Republican members of Congress to organize the attack. He named Reps. Andy Biggs, Paul A. Gosar, and Mo Brooks.
Brooks is notorious for hiding from Rep. Eric Swalwell. Swalwell has filed a lawsuit against Brooks, Donald Trump, and Rudy Giuliani for their roles in the Capitol attack. Brooks refuses to be served.
Swalwell went to court and requested a 60-day extension to serve Brooks.
Here is a portion of the extension request:
Plaintiff says Rep. Brooks knew about the lawsuit in March. “Mo Brooks unquestionably knows about the instant lawsuit,” claims the motion. “Just hours after it was filed, Brooks tweeted a series of baseless accusations against Plaintiff in response.”
Plaintiff’s counsel asked Brooks to waive service. The claim states “neither Brooks nor any member of his staff have responded to this request.”
Plaintiff hired private investigators to serve Rep. Brooks the summons in person. The motion notes serving a summons in person is “a difficult feat under normal circumstances that has been complicated further in the wake of the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol that Defendants incited.”
Plaintiff attempted to serve the lawsuit to Rep. Brooks at multiple locations in April and May. “Plaintiff has borne all costs associated with these efforts.”
Swalwell’s motion was granted by U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta.
Brooks claims that he isn’t avoiding being served stating, “I am avoiding no one. I have altered my conduct not one iota since Swalwell's politically motivated, meritless lawsuit was filed.” However, it should be noted that Brooks could have had his staff or attorney assist him in accepting the lawsuit, but so far, he has not done this.
Brooks appears to be using Trump-like tactics of dodging accountability for his actions while sowing seeds of chaos and division.
Brooks is actively campaigning to become Alabama’s next Senator. He is running ads that include portions of the speech he gave that allegedly helped Trump in incite the attack on the Capitol.
Recall that Brooks told rioters in front of the White House “today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass.”
Brooks appears to be trying to have it both ways. He condemns the Capitol attack but is using his speech that helped to incite the attack in multiple ads running on social media. Brooks continues to peddle baseless conspiracies of mass election fraud even though it is common knowledge that there was no voter fraud.
Fun Fact: After the attack, Brooks tried to invalidate President Joe Biden’s Electoral College votes and failed because no Senator co-signed it. If he wins the Alabama Senate seat, he may succeed in invalidating a democratic win using the Electoral College in the future.
Many pundits are wondering if Republican tactics include refusing to accept any election wins by a Democrats. Meanwhile, "Stop the Steal" founder Ali Alexander continued to promote the conspiracy-driven Arizona audit (backed by Steve Bannon) on social media until he was banned from Twitter and Facebook. Brooks continues to hide.
