Senators Like Ted Cruz Argue While Americans Stress About Housing and Buying Food!

On Monday, the Senate returned from their two week vacation because doing nothing for regular folks is hard.
They wasted Monday and Tuesday fighting with Trump and each other because they have no plan. Moreover, they are scheduled to recess for the entire month of August. That’s right, they are leaving for another month of vacation after a two week vacation.
Fun Fact: The House passed a $3 trillion spending bill back in May called the Heroes Act. This would have provided your family with a second round of stimulus checks, money for coronavirus testing and funds for small businesses.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to put this second stimulus package to a Senate vote and Donald Trump vowed to block it.
Senator Ted Cruz called the Heroes Act a "monstrosity," whining that it would be a “windfall" for a "radical liberal agenda, not relief for the workers, families, and job creators hurting from COVID-19.” According to Cruz being able to pay your bills and have access to test kits during a global pandemic is a “radical liberal agenda.”
So here we are, America:
Coronavirus didn’t magically disappear.
Most of us still don’t have access to test kits.
Hospitals are overwhelmed.
Nurses still don’t have N95 masks or bleach wipes.
Most businesses are unable to reopen or rehired their workers.
Rent is due.
Groceries are needed.
Unemployment is running out.
So you would think that lawmakers would be working hard to ensure that Americans don’t go hungry—nope. They are busy planning their August month long recess—Should they be taking another break during this coronavirus pandemic emergency?
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stated, “Republicans are in complete disarray. Totally incompetent. Totally in disarray. Totally at war with one another.”
Payroll Tax Cuts Only Help If You Have A Job
Trump is focused on payroll tax cuts which would be really great except a record number of Americans are unemployed, so this only helps out his rich corporate buddies. Trump’s payroll tax plan does absolutely nothing to help out-of-work Americans.
Trump is also demanding that funding for coronavirus tests and the Center For Disease (CDC) be removed which is insane during a global pandemic that has killed nearly 141,000 Americans.
Remember when Trump bragged at his Tulsa Rally that by keeping Americans from being tested for coronavirus, he was keeping the numbers down?
Spoiler Alert: Not testing you doesn’t prevent you from catching coronavirus, but it does allow Trump to lie to us about the real number of cases.
Kayleigh Doesn’t McEnany Sense!
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany stated on Tuesday that Trump wants “targeted funds” for coronavirus testing. Targeted as in test kits are ONLY available for the elite and wealthy?
Trump and his staff get tested every day. Wouldn’t you like to return to work knowing that all employees are tested daily to reduce your exposure to coronavirus?
The Grim Reaper Is Laughing
McConnell reportedly laughed—because leaving Americans homeless and hungry is hilarious—and told reporters that it was very unlikely a deal would be reached by the end of next week.
McConnell stated on Tuesday that a second round of direct payments to Americans would be sent to workers, but only workers who made below $75,000.
America Is In Ruins As The Senate Plans For A Month Long Recess
America’s economy is in ruins. 1 in 10 Americans is unemployed. 51% of all households report substantial reductions in their income.
America’s infection rates are increasing. Nearly 141,000 Americans are dead—more than ANYWHERE else in the world—and your leaders are planning a month long recess just as our emergency aid is expiring.
Joe Biden Cares About All Americans
Joe Biden stated that the new stimulus package should “deliver a lifeline to those who need it most: working families and small businesses.”
