After months, Trump has still failed to provide proper N95 masks for America’s nurses, paramedics and healthcare workers caring for coronavirus patients.
At least 1077 healthcare workers have died in the United States. Many of these deaths were 100% preventable.
Trump has admitted to withholding test kits—The true number of healthcare worker deaths may never be known.
He has still failed to offered a nationally coordinated response to the pandemic.
Trump STILL has not provided the proper amount of live-saving protective gear to medical staff.
Trump has also refused to require social distancing which has increased pressure on our healthcare workers — placing them in harms way.
Trump couldn’t be bothered to implement a simple nationwide mask policy — adding to the burden of already over-burdened hospital staff.
A survey held by National Nurses United found that thousands of nurses still don't have access to proper PPE (protective wear) while treating patients with infectious diseases like coronavirus.
Substandard Dangerous Practices
Hospitals are forcing medical workers to reuse dirty N95 masks and other life-protecting supplies despite knowing about shortages for months and months. These practices are considered to be substandard worldwide.
Nurses report being force to reuse ONE TIME ONLY N95 masks. They report that new masks are kept from them in locked storage areas.
N95 masks are one-time wear only and are not designed for reuse. Nurses are being forced to wear them until the masks fail.
87% of the American nurses surveyed report that they have been forced to reuse the single-use, disposable N95 masks.
Sad Fact: According to NPR in “the spring of 2017 the Trump administration halted the final implementation of new federal regulations that would have required the health care industry to prepare for an airborne infectious disease pandemic. Consequently, there are no federal workplace rules that specifically protect health care workers from deadly airborne pathogens such as influenza, tuberculosis or the coronavirus.”
Trump Has Known About The Shortages For Months
These shortages have been known nationwide for months. Most Americans were shocked to see American nurses forced to wear garbage bags back in March. However, it is now December and the Trump administration still has not offered a national coordinated response the the coronavirus pandemic.
Why isn’t the main stream media talking about this?
Lives Were Lost And Continue To Be Lost
Ousted vaccine expert Dr. Rick Bright testified, "Lives were endangered, and I believe lives were lost. We were forced to procure the supplies from other countries without the right quality standards, so even our doctors and nurses—today are wearing N95-marked masks that don't provide sufficient protection.”
Translation: Many nurses, paramedics and healthcare workers are being forced to wear KN95 masks which generally don’t provide the same level of safety as N95 masks do leading to being infected.
Will For-profit Hospitals Continue These Unsafe Practices?
Many worry that these unsafe practices around infection control will become the new normal in American healthcare settings in Trump’s America.
How many more have to be infected and die before this becomes national news?
