On Monday, Donald Trump lumbered into the Rose Garden. He made a speech about law and order. Next, he proceeded to order his men to gas and shoot rubber bullets at innocent Americans who were peacefully protesting in Lafayette Park.
After, Trump marched over to St. John’s Episcopal Church at Layfayette Square where he held the Bible upside down and posed for a political photo-op.
Last, Trump hurried back to the White House to hide in his bunker.
Apparently Trump was trespassing on church property. He had not gotten the church’s permission to be on the premises.
Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, head of the Episcopal denomination, said that Trump was just using “a church building and the Holy Bible for partisan political purposes.”
Curry continued, “This was done in a time of deep hurt and pain in our country, and his action did nothing to help us or to heal us.”
According to the King James Bible, to trespass means to literally “to enter unlawfully upon the land of another. A man may trespass by walking over the ground of another, and the law gives a remedy for damages sustained.”
Obviously Trump doesn’t read the Bible, If he did, he would have known better than to trespass on church property for a shameless photo-op.
