Trump & McConnell Make Time To Fill SCOTUS Seat, But Refuse To Pass Stimulus Relief For Folks!

The stimulus relief issue could have been resolved in May, but Donald Trump and Senate Republicans don’t care about regular folks.
The U.S. House passed the largest relief package in U.S. history called the Heroes Act on May 16 of this year. It was never even put to a vote.
However, Trump, Mitch McConnell and Republican Senators have lots of time to devote to filling the vacant SCOTUS seat left by Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Trump and McConnell’s motives are self-serving. They want a stacked Supreme Court to corruptly retain their power. They don’t care about regular folks trying to feed their families.
Economy In Ruins
According to the Department of Labor, another 860,000 Americans filed for unemployment benefits last week. Claims are four times higher than before the coronavirus pandemic. Even worse, these statistics don’t include all of the additional unemployment claims in other unemployment aid programs, such as those who assist people who are self-employed.
Trump, McConnell and all the other Republican Senators refused to even consider the Heroes Act which was passed six months ago by the House.
The Heroes Act package would have allotted money for your family:
Up to $6000 per household to Americans
Additional funding for state and local government
Hazard pay for essential workers
Funds for the U.S. Postal Service
$10 billion in assistance to small businesses who haven’t received money yet from the Paycheck Protection Program
Coronavirus testing and contact tracing
These details are according to the fact sheet released by the House Appropriations Committee.
Didn’t Even Consider Helping Folks
Mitch McConnell, Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham, Thom Tillis, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Martha McSally and the rest of the Republican Senators didn’t even consider voting on the Heroes Act relief package.
Lindsey Graham Is The Worst
Worse still, Graham declared that the Heroes Act is "dead on arrival.” Graham claimed he is “sympathetic” to the idea that Americans may need additional help to recover but declined to vote for it.
Lindsey Graham, a confirmed bachelor, doesn’t have any empathy for regular working folks who have a family to raise. He spends his free time in Florida golfing with Trump and partying at Mar-a-Lago.
McConnell Cares About His Rich Donors
McConnell stated his priority was to protect big businesses from lawsuits in his push back against the Heroes Act. McConnell called the Heroes Act is “a big laundry list of pet priorities.”
It seems that Americans being able to pay their bills, buy food and have access to coronavirus test kits are “pet priorities” to McConnell.
McConnell proves again that he is a power hungry out of touch 78-year-old millionaire, who spends most of his time in Washington.
McConnell can find time to get votes to fill the SCOTUS seat, but can’t find time to get votes to pass a relief bill.
The Poor Get Poorer
The federal ban on evictions and the extra $600 weekly benefits expired on July 31. It’s shocking that America’s Senators have done nothing to help working folks.
If they didn’t like the Heroes Act, Republican Senators could have worked to put together their own plan for a second round of assistance, but instead they did nothing.
They all took multiple vacations over the past six months because doing nothing for Americans is hard work.
Meanwhile, Trump spends most of his time watching TV and golfing during the worst pandemic of our lifetime.
Canada Didn’t Play Politics With People’s Lives
Canadians received $2000 a month in coronavirus assistance and have access to test kits. They are not dying in the hundreds of thousands.
If you are tired of seeing your leaders play politics while you family is worried about being evicted or buying groceries, act today.
Call your Senator at the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 then simply tell the operator to transfer you to your Senator. Leave a voicemail and demand action.
