Was Rosenstein the Architect of Trump's "No Obstruction" Message?
Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller as Special Council. He knee-capped Mueller. Finally, Rosenstein backed Barr’s shameful handling of the Mueller Report.

Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey after Comey refused to tank the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in America’s 2016 election.
This raised the issue of Obstruction of Justice.
In an odd move, Rod Rosenstein backed up Trump by quickly issuing a memorandum which claimed the "reputation and credibility" of the FBI had been damaged under Comey.
Americans are learning that Rosenstein and the Office of Legal Counsel were allegedly conspiring with former Attorney General William Barr to craft the “no obstruction” narrative. This is a terrible betrayal by the Department of Justice (DOJ) leadership.
Now, it appears they were also using the DOJ to spy on lawmakers who opposed Trump. In May, tech giant Apple notified individuals associated with the committee that the DOJ had issued grand-jury subpoenas for their information in February 2018. DOJ prosecutors seized metadata records belonging to Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell.
The DOJ took this action after Trump reportedly threw a tantrum about leaked conversations between Trump aides and Russia officials. This is being made public now because the DOJ had a gag order against Apple which prevented them from informing Schiff and Swalwell that they were being targeted.
In addition to Schiff and Swalwell, the subpoenas targeted their aides and family members.
Someone is Lying.
Both former Attorney Generals Jeff Sessions and William Barr claim they had no idea that the Department of Justice was spying on two top House Democrats on the Intelligence Committee: Swalwell and Schiff.
Rosenstein also denies knowledge of these events.
It is difficult to believe that Sessions, Barr, and Rosenstein did not know about the spying. Someone is not telling the truth.
Trump Blackmail
Recall that Trump has history of trying to dig up dirt on his enemies. In fact, he was impeached for trying to bribe and blackmail Ukraine to manufacture dirt on Joe Biden.
It appears that Trump used Barr, Rosenstein, Sessions, and the DOJ to do his dirty work for him.
There was Collusion and Obstruction.
Trump repeatedly used the words: “No collusion. No obstruction” like a mantra throughout Special Council Robert Mueller’s investigation.
Was Rosenstein the primary architect of the evil plan to aid Trump’s “No collusion. No obstruction” propaganda message?
Reminder, Rosenstein appointed Mueller as Special Council. Then, he allegedly knee-capped Mueller, sabotaging his investigation. Finally, Rosenstein backed Barr’s shameful mischaracterization of the Mueller Report.
Rosenstein Enabled Barr
Did Rosenstein back Barr’s lie about the contents of Mueller Report because Rosenstein was the one who enabled Barr in the first place?
Harry Litman @HarryLitman Tweeted, “Gag order on Apple, which started in Sessions’ tenure, was renewed three times, spanning Whitaker and then Barr. The likely highest point person signing off on the renewals was probably the DAG, Rod Rosenstein.”
Manu Raju @mkraju posted, “Barr, Sessions and now Rosenstein say they were unaware of the subpoenas sent under their tenure for Democratic lawmakers’ records.”
It is impossible to believe that Session, Barr, and Rosenstein ALL had no knowledge of these events.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin are calling for Barr and Sessions to testify under oath.
Fun Fact: Rod Rosenstein was a member of Kenneth Starr's office during Clinton’s presidency. It appears he has always been willing to utilize the law to benefit Republicans.
It turns out that Rosenstein may have been one of the villains helping Trump subvert justice.
