Why Did Sen. Tommy Tuberville Lie about Attending Trump’s War Room?
Why did Senator Tuberville initially lie about being at the Trump International Hotel on January 5, 2021, just one day before the January 6 insurrection?
Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville initially denied he attended the War Room meeting at The Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Tuberville lied.
In fact, Daniel Beck posted the captioned along with this photograph on Facebook (see below), inadvertently exposing the fact that Tuberville did indeed visit the War Room at The Trump International Hotel in D.C. on January 5, 2021, just hours before the attack on the Capitol.
Beck’s post said, “The Trump hotel is Amazing!! Fifteen of us spent the evening with Donald Trump Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle, Tommy Tuberville, Michael J. Lindell, Peter Navarro, and Rudy Giuliani. We talked about the elections, illegal votes, court cases, the republics’ status, what to expect on the hill tomorrow. TRUMP WILL RETAIN THE PRESIDENCY!!!”
Besides Beck’s post specifically naming Tuberville, we also have photographic evidence proving Tuberville was there.
After initially denying being at Trump’s War Room, this photograph of Tuberville (posted by an Instagram user) taken at the Trump Hotel, reportedly taken January 5, 2021 PROVED he was lying.
Why was Tuberville lying about going to Trump’s War Room?
In February, Tuberville finally admitted he was at the Trump Hotel on January 5 claiming, “Several of us was asked to come down and speak. It was about future. 2022. And it was probably, I don’t know, 15, 20 people there. I had to walk five blocks to get to it. They had everything blocked off downtown. So, it took longer to walk into it than it did for me to speak for five, 10 minutes, then I left.”
Tuberville seems to remember everything from how many blocks he walked, to how many people attended. Tuberville admitted that he spoke. Was this a conversation or a speech?
Tuberville claims to remember everything EXCEPT the reason he attended Trump’s War Room.
Fun Fact: A trained statement analyst would most likely flag Tuberville’s statement as potentially deceptive.
Now, Let’s Consider that Phone Call Rudy Giuliani Made to Tuberville
Recall that Tuberville’s name also surfaced AGAIN, tying him to Trump and Giuliani scheme.
This time it was a phone call made by Trump’s attorney Giuliani on January 6, 2021.
Giuliani called the wrong Senator (unnamed) and accidentally left a detailed voicemail for Tuberville. This voicemail was released by the (unnamed) Senator to The Dispatch.
In the voicemail, Giuliani asked Tuberville to delay the certification of the 2020 election.
Giuliani says, “The only strategy we can follow is to object to numerous states and raise issues, so that we get ourselves into tomorrow — ideally until the end of tomorrow. So, if you could object to every state and, along with a congressman, get a hearing for every state, I know we would delay you a lot, but it would give us the opportunity to get the legislators who are very, very close to pulling their vote.”
Finally, if Tuberville had no involvement in Trump’s scheme to overturn Joe Biden’s win, why were Giuliani and Trump so confident that Tuberville would do Trump’s bidding?
In fact, Tuberville did formally object to certifying the electoral college votes in both Arizona and Pennsylvania. Tuberville did Trump’s bidding AFTER Trump’s mob attacked the Capitol, trying to hang then-Vice President Mike Pence.
I thought the War Room was at the Willard Hotel, especially to provide some sort of deniability disconnect between it and Trump. Or did the "War Room" move from Trump International Hotel to the Willard? Or were there 2:war rooms?
