The New York Times reported on Friday that as soon as next week, the Manhattan District Attorney is criminally indicting the Trump Organization. Trump Organization COO Allen Weisselberg may also be charged.
Fun Fact: When Trump became president, he appointed his two oldest sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump, Jr., to run the company with Weisselberg.
Moreover, The New York Times is reporting that the DA’s office has notified Donald Trump that is it expecting to bring criminal charges against Trump Org.
Donald Trump and Trump Organization have been under investigation to determine if he overvalued some assets and undervalued others for financial benefit, tax evasion, and fraud.
It appears that the Trump Organization violated tax laws by gifting its employees’ extras like tuition payments to private schools, free cars, and discounted apartments.
Attorney Daniel Goldman appeared on MSNBC on Friday stating, “It's interesting and not surprising that they would approach the Trump Organization to tell them that they're considering charging them because that would be almost a death blow to the Trump Organization.”
Daniel Goldman @DanielsGoldman Tweeted, “I can’t underscore enough how devastating an indictment would be to the Trump Org. Every lender would call their loans and no way Trump Org can pay them all, likely leading to bankruptcy. Weisselberg may not cooperate without more serious charges, but any charge will doom the TO.”
Dr. Dena Grayson @DrDenaGrayson posted, “BREAKING: The Manhattan DA’s office has informed Donald Trump’s lawyers it is considering CRIMINAL charges against Trump Org in connection with fringe benefits Trump Org allegedly gave a top executive but didn’t pay taxes on.”
Trump lawyer Ron Fishchetti stated regarding the former president, “He’s not happy, He understands it. He’s been saying this is a witch hunt all along, and this is just further evidence.”
Even if the Trump Organization is not convicted, criminal charges could do irreparable harm its’ ability to continue.
